Engadget N97 review: what I don't like - By engadget

Here's another look at Nokia's iPhone killer the N97. No wonder why their stock/market share is tanking. Is this what you call innovation?

As Its Stock Sinks, We Wonder What’s Wrong With Nokia

The Finnish company posted a 66 percent plunge in second-quarter earnings and a 25 percent drop in sales, and said it’s no longer expecting its market share this year to increase over 2008. The comments sent shares of Nokia down more than 14 percent, to end at $13.46.

I find it utterly amusing how some people claim that Nokia is set to dominate the likes of Apple or Google/Android when I continue to find supporting evidence that suggests otherwise.

Read up and find out what's wrong with Nokia. http://bit.ly/118Ea

iPhone 3GS vs Nokia N97: Browser Comparison

Another view of the Nokia N97 and how it's web browser performs along with interacting with the User Interface and keyboard.

After watching the video it's quite clear that the iPhone outshines the N97 here in terms of accessibility and ease of use when accessing the web. Scrolling through web pages seems rough and not as smooth as what you would experience iPhone. The only thing that N97 had over the iPhone was that it could play inline Flash content. Yet, the performance wasn't impressive.

Zooming out of a web page on the N97 seemed unintuitive taking several clicks to perform a simple task. Also, the native keyboard on the N97 shows how valuable an onscreen keyboard actually is.

The web browser is a key feature in a mobile device. Accessibility and ease of use are also major features that are vital for the mobile user. I fail to see where the Nokia N97 meets even these basic needs.

Another Lackluster review of the Nokia N97

CNET takes a look at the Nokia N97. Based on many reviews that I've seen across the internet including this one. I fail to see how Nokia will even stand to compete against the iPhone, Blackberry, Android, or even the Palm Pre. Especially for the high price tag of $700.
